JEAN PIERRE RAWIE
I hate poems about making poetry. That’s like being served the menu instead of the meal you ordered.

A poem lives by putting a reader on a certain metric pattern, without him knowing this.

Poetry is a political act because it involves telling the truth.

Writing poetry is happiness in acting and being. Writing poetry is a form of happiness.
Only the poem is an Aleph, a place where things don’t jostle one another for a moment but where they are reconciled with each other and the ALL.
My standards for what poetry is, for what poetry should be, are: the poet has something to say; he has mastered his language; he is musically gifted; he is serious.
The poet is born again and again in the poem he gave birth to himself.

Just like a person is more than his skin, but wouldn't be without skin, a poem is more than its form, while it nevertheless only became a poem in and through its form, and independant on it.

I live with the hope there will be no more poems. Then there are some stupid poems again and I think: may I take a nap? A guy like me has to write them down and before you realize you have a new collection.
Each poem is a thruth in itself. What Goethe once described as “schon dagewesen und noch da der Geist hätte es ohnehin erfunden”.
‘Les chants de Maldoror’ by Lautreamont has also been very important to me. But I never managed to finish the book. Every now and then I had to stop because I found it so beautiful.
